พลอย กาสม
ปัจจุบันเป็นศิลปินหญิงเชียงใหม่ ที่สร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะที่มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว ไม่ว่าจะเป็นงานเพ้นท์ งานศิลปะภาพพิมพ์และงานออกแบบ เป็นศิลปินที่มีผลงานถูกจัดแสดงทั้งไทยและต่างประเทศ เป็นอาจารย์พิเศษมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่และเป็นศิลปินที่ได้รับรางวัล Design awards ในปี2014 ภายใต้แบรนด์ของเธอเอง ชื่อว่า Kasploy
พลอย เริ่มสร้างผลงานที่มีเอกลักษณ์ค่อนชัดเจน เริ่มในสมัยเรียนปริญญาโท ผลงานพลอยเริ่มจากการหยิบเรื่องราวที่อยู่ใกล้ตัว เป็นความสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง คน สัตว์ และธรรมชาติ ที่มีผลต่อความรู้สึกนำมาจัดในพื้นที่ที่ตนสร้างขึ้นมาในความคิด ทำให้เกิดผลงานจินตานาการที่ไม่หยุดนิ่ง มีรายละเอียดในผลงาน พลอยชอบการใช้สีที่สด มักใช้สีคู่ตรงข้าม ทำให้เกิดผลงานและมีคาแรคเตอร์ที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว ผลงานที่ถูกนำมาจัดแสดงกับ JOJO KOBE ชุดนี้ พลอยได้สร้างผลงาน ที่อยากบอกเล่าเรื่องราวทางความคิดและต้องการค้นหาบางสิ่งในผลงานของตน ระหว่างการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน พลอยมักจะชอบพูดคุยกับงานของเธอเสมอ เธอใส่จินตนาการ ความรู้สึก ในปัจจุบันขณะเข้าไปโลดแล่นในผลงาน คล้ายกับเป็นการพูดคุย โต้ตอบกับงานตนเองตลอดเวลา ทำให้ผลงานของพลอยชุดนี้ มีเสน่ห์น่าค้นหา เช่น ในตัวผลงานมักจะซ่อนตัวละครบางอย่างไว้ในสถานที่ที่พลอยสร้างขึ้น ภาพมนุษย์ที่ไม่ได้ระบุว่าเป็นเพศใด ภาพสัตว์ ภาพต้นไม้ที่มีรูปร่างซึ่งให้ความรู้สึกแปลกประหลาด ในบางครั้งตัวเธอเองก็ไม่รู้ความหมายในสิ่งที่ตนสร้างขึ้น เธอจึงค้นหาคำตอบ โดยการสร้างผลงานขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง จนกระทั่งเธอได้พบคำตอบที่ซ่อนอยู่ในผลงานนั้น ทว่าในระหว่างเส้นทางการสร้างผลงานเธอก็มักจะได้พบในสิ่งใหม่ที่ทำให้เธอต้องค้นหาคำตอบใหม่
อยูเ่สมอ จึงเป็นที่มาของการพัฒนาผลงานของเธออย่างไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด ยกตัวอย่างเช่นในชุดการแสดงผลงานในสวนแห่งความฝัน Garden of Dream
พลอยกล่าวไว้ในช่วงหนึ่งของการสัมภาษณ์ว่า พลอยมีความสุขในทุกๆวัน เพราะพลอยได้ทำงานศิลปะที่ตนเองรัก ซื่อสัตย์ต่อความรู้สึก ซื่อสัตย์ต่อผลงาน สนุกไปกับการสร้างจินตนาการ หาคำตอบเพื่อพบสิ่งใหม่ ต้องมีความอดทน และทำมันอย่างต่อเนื่อง ทำให้เกิดโอกาสที่ดีมากมายเข้ามาในชีวิต ของเส้นทางการเป็นศิลปิน
Artist’s Biography
Ploy Kasom
Ploy Kasom is a local artist in Chiang Mai. She has a unique style of painting, printing and designing. Her artworks were exhibited in Thailand and abroad. She is also a special lecturer at Chiang Mai University. In 2014, she won the Design Award for her brand “Kasploy.”
Shining an identity of her artworks since she was a grad r imagination. Look close on details of her works, vivid and complementary colors are used to outshining her works. This exhibited collection at JOJO KOBE Gallery, Ploy aims to tell a story of what she tries to discover while working on her artworks. She regularly likes to talk with her works, and puts imagination and sensation at that moment into her works. It seems like she communicates to them and get some responses from them all the time. Undoubtedly, her works are mysterious and charming. For instance, often times, she will hide ambiguous characters without gender specification at a curtain place. The abstract pictures of animals and trees that give an odd feeling which somehow she could not tell the real meaning of what she created. Therefore, she will create her works continuously until she discovers the answers within. Surprisingly, she always finds new questions to seek for new answers; as a result, she keeps developing her endless artworks such as this collection, Garden of Dream.
Said Ploy “I am happy every day from working on the artworks that I love. I’m honest to my feeling and also to my artworks. I have a lot of fun with my imagination and with new discovery while working. I must be patient and must continue working which I strongly believe that will bring more great opportunities in my way of life as an artis
